As a preventative measure we are asking visitors, including family members and friends, to stop visits to our care homes to keep your loved ones, and all our other residents, as safe as possible. We have not taken this decision lightly. If there is a situation that requires a necessary and essential visit we would ask that you discuss this with the Home Manager to ensure that the appropriate precautionary measures are taken to limit any potential risk. Our wonderful staff are doing all they can to ensure that life in our services remains as comfortable and sociable as possible.
In the meantime, we have set up the facilities to offer video calls with our residents. Please get in touch if you would like to video call a loved one. Phone calls are always welcome should you wish to talk to a member of staff or a loved one.

Choosing the right home for you or your loved one is an important decision. At White Gables, we believe in providing the best and most appropriate care for our residents in a homely setting.
We do this by recruiting and retaining the highest calibre of staff who have a passion for the work they do. All staff will have a personal education plan combining mandatory training requirements with in-house training pertinent to the area they work in. Many of our staff have also obtained nationally recognised qualifications such as diplomas and NVQs.
We provide comprehensive care planning of a service users’ needs involving the individual and their relatives. Care provision is a dynamic and ever-changing process and requires regular assessment and evaluation of a resident’s needs.
We ensure effective liaison with all appropriate agencies involved in a service user’s care. This may include GPs, physiotherapists, dieticians, chiropodists, mental healthcare professionals, spiritual leaders, social workers etc.
Residents and their relatives should feel satisfied with the standard of care received and are able to comment on any aspect of care received within the care plans and home environment. The complaints procedure will be explained to residents and their relatives on admission.
We pay special attention to the quality and variety of all menus at White Gables, where residents make the choices. Food is prepared by our chefs to meet all dietary requirements and snacks are freely available 24 hours a day.
All equipment provided will be selected to ensure the safe, efficient, effective provision of care with the best interest of both residents and staff.
We also ensure that residents are able to access and enjoy a wide range of activities ranging from social stimulation to diversional therapy to meaningful activity or just plain fun.
White Gables is situated near to the coastal cliff in the clean quiet town of Felixstowe, conveniently located within easy level walking distance of the town centre, post office, library, community centre and bus routes.
We are a family run Home accredited by Social Services since 1982, and registered to care for thirty-seven residents.
The work was initially started by Mr and Mrs T Lewis, who then handed it onto their son and his wife, Mr and Mrs Clifford and Jacqui Lewis.
They owned the home until March 2018, when Holmwood Holdings bought it. Despite a change of ownership, the team have remained consistent, ensuring a continued and improved delivery of care for all who live at White Gables.
